FILM FUN...

I was at a meeting of the volunteer board at the Ritz Cinema last week, when one of my colleagues said he had written to the producers of the recently screened Downton Abbey sequel, complaining that “a visit to the cinema in Thirsk” had been filmed in an auditorium that was demonstrably not our cherished local Ritz!

No reply has yet been received, but since the whole film is set in a stately home in the Home Counties, with village shots in a location near Oxford, it might have been unreasonable to expect the paraphernalia of location filming to have been transported all the way up to Thirsk! ............
