Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers ...

13th April, 2024.

The Easter Handicap was held this year on Sutton Bank on a dark, dreary evening but that didn't dampen the spirits of the 50+ finishers and the many helpers.

Runners were set off in order based on their time trial times over the previous term, calculated by the consistent and reliable Duncan Fothergill.

Handicapping gives slower runners a chance to shine, and Ken Evitt did just that, finishing first on an evening which just happened to be his birthday!

Helen Ashworth was 2nd and Janet Balmain 3rd.

The person with the quickest time on the evening was Freddy Wharton with Joe Martlew only a few seconds slower and Cameron Balmain 3rd.

Trudy Morrice, quick whatever the terrain, was fastest lady, with Imogen Yates 2nd and Lorraine Hiles 3rd.

Presentations, social time and supper was held under the bus shelter at Sutton Bank and a good time was had by all, especially as everyone got an Easter egg.
