32 members were among the 138 runners who completed the brutal Hooded Horse 10k at the weekend, raising funds to the memory of Ben Campbell, who lost his life at a young age to cancer.

The day was quite kind but the course is tough, taking in the White Horse Bank and Hood Hill, from where the race devises its name, with loads of steep ascents and descents.

Congratulations to all who completed the event, and especially to Joe Martlew, who finished 2nd in a time of 48.40.

A superb result. Richard Grant came 12th in 52.41, with Paul Peacock not far behind, 13th, in 53.12. Ken Wood was next, 25th in 59.10 with Chris Coates 29th in 60.37.

Trudy Morrice got the prize for 3rd lady, 33rd overall in 61.00, with Dave Kavanagh, 37th in 61.44.

Rob Burn took 62.04, Alan Simpson 64.41, Louise Mayfield 68.06, Andrew Pollard 68.49, Helen Ashworth 70.21. Kerr-Lee Wooding 71.13, Mark Knowlson 72.30, Pete Jackson 73.04, David Tervit 74.02, Duncan Fothergill 74.41, Joe Joyce 76.02, Ruth Pollard 76.38, Geoff Bullock 76.51, Kirsty Naylor 78.51, Alan Docherty 78.52, Will Jagger 83.09, Tim Waistell 83.13, Sara Armitage 83.51, Tracey Docherty 84.09, Stuart Hill 85.01, Hugh Jenyns 103.25, Christine Burn 103.45, Carol Thompson 104.43 with gritty and determined Denise Gandy 139.28.
