Ruby Lodge Care Home Brings the Community Together with Wellbeing Hub Event...

12th April, 2025.

Ruby Lodge Care Home in Thirsk recently hosted its first-ever Wellbeing Hub event, bringing together residents, carers, and community groups for a day dedicated to health, wellness, and support.

With an impressive showcase of services and resources, the event aimed to help connections and raise awareness of the invaluable support available within the local area.

The event featured a variety of specialist speakers and engaging activities designed to promote overall well-being.

Liga and Kate from the Community Works team emphasized the importance of raising awareness, stating, "When people know what’s available, they can access the right support at the right time. The Wellbeing Hub has been an incredible way to bring together residents, carers, and service providers to ensure everyone knows how to access the help they need."

Their team offers a range of services, including Car Sharing, Meals on Wheels, and Support Cafés.

Georgia Thompson, Retail Director at Specsavers, highlighted the power of collaboration, and sharing, "Events like these are unique. They help us connect with other services and find new ways to support the community together. We were able to showcase our home visit services and share how we assist with both eye care and hearing support."

A focus on fitness and wellbeing added to the day, as Fitness Instructor Beryl inspired attendees with her message: "Exercise is for everyone! We want to encourage people of all abilities to move their bodies and find joy in fitness."

The Wellbeing Hub also shone a light on creative initiatives designed to enhance the dignity and comfort of individuals in care.
