A sunny Sunday morning at SSV saw the Golds’ final league match of the season.
The first 20 minutes from Thirsk was as good football from the lads as it's ever been, creating chance after chance.
The Newton Aycliffe keeper was making some brilliant saves as shots came in thick and fast.
After some neat build up play and two calm finishes from the Falcons’ no 2, the home team opened up a lead.
The lads were controlling play in midfield, putting together smart passes to allow no 13 to take the ball down the right hand side time after time.
The visitors got one back with a long range shot when Thirsk were caught off guard.
But with the barrage of attacks ongoing, the Aycliffe goalkeeper was again called on - including bravely meeting shots which literally floored him shortly before the half-time break.
