It’s school summer holidays and what do you do to keep the kids happy and out of mischief? One answer is to teach them to knit and crochet, and this is what Yarnbombers are doing at the Community Library.

I went along to meet the volunteers and the children at their first session.

I am not going to learn to knit. I tried once and the result was, to put it gently, not pretty.

Knitting is simple, cheap, constructive and rewarding. It’s quite easy to take on holiday too. Yarnbombers are bringing on the next generation.........
