A Level Success at Thirsk...

Students from Thirsk School and Sixth Form College have been celebrating an extremely positive set of A level results. In a year group whose secondary education was impacted by Covid closures, 71% of grades achieved by Thirsk students were A*- C, with nearly half of these at a B grade or higher.

Nearly all of our students achieved their first choice of course, apprenticeship or employment.

Within this extremely positive context, there are some truly fabulous success stories.

Our Head Girl, Charlotte Pollard, continues the College’s strong Oxbridge tradition, and will take up her place at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge to read Veterinary Science, whilst our Head Boy, Ben Kelly, gained a fabulous three A’s and an A*, and will head to Newcastle University to study Creative Writing after taking a year out.
