Thirsk School GCSE Results...

Students from Thirsk School and Sixth Form College have just been receiving their GCSE results, and we are so proud of what these young people have achieved.

In a year where across the country the pass rate is falling, 62% of our students achieved a grade 4 or higher in both English and Maths, and students overall achieved better than their target grades.

This is a particularly notable achievement, as this year group had the first two years of their secondary education significantly disrupted by school closures, absence due to Covid, and the need to work online from home.

As a result of these pressures, students have had to work harder than ever to prepare for these summer exams, attending huge numbers of extra revision classes and tutoring sessions run by our staff.

We are grateful to all of the students, parents and staff for their dedication in working towards these very strong results. We are so proud of all of them.
