Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers...

14th December, 2024.

A very happy Christmas meal and end of year presentation awards took place at the Gavel Cafe last week, with Paul Peacock the star of the show, winning both the Age adjusted and First past the post male championships.

Kerri-Lee Wooding had a pretty good evening too, getting 3rd lady in the 1st past the post Ladies’ Championship and also the Endeavour Award and maybe not surprisingly, Most Improved Lady.

2nd behind Paul Peacock in the Men’s Age adjusted competition was Rob Burn, with Brett Edgeworth 3rd, and behind winner Paul in the 1st past the post Championship was 2nd Chris Coates with Rob Burn 3rd.

Winner of the Ladies Age Adjusted championship was Lorraine Hiles with Trudy Morrice 2nd and with Helen Ashworth 3rd.

1st past the post winning lady was Bronwyn Mayo, with Trudy Morrice 2nd and Lorraine Hiles 3rd.

In order to qualify for all of the above competitions, members must have completed a minimum of 10 races out of a total of 20, with 16 members achieving this and Kirsty Naylor the only member to have completed all 20.

Very well done, Kirsty. No mean achievement.
