Thirsk Repair Cafe Thrives...

January’s Thirsk Repair Café, their sixth since starting up last year, was the busiest to date. They tackled 34 repairs in 3 hours.

Now operating upstairs at Thirsk Community Library, where families can join in the fun and refreshments whilst repairs are underway; it definitely felt like a “multi-generational day” according to co-ordinator Keith Lewis.

The group welcomed a visit from North Yorkshire Councillor Dave Whitfield who is very supportive of the Repair Café movement.

The Café is a Friends of the Earth, Thirsk activity because of its environmental benefits in reducing waste.

Some of the repairs were pretty special for their owners, including a cuckoo clock and a treasured 140 year old mantle clock..........
