Allerton Juniors Athletics Club...

HARD work has paid off for athletes from Allerton Juniors Athletics Club, many of whom have been selected to compete for North Yorkshire or Cleveland in Cross Country, Indoor Athletics and Sportshall competitions.

Starting with Cross Country; after fantastic performances in Area and County trials, a total of 6 athletes aged U13 and upwards, were awarded North Yorkshire or Cleveland vests and ran for North Yorkshire or Cleveland in the Northern Inter-counties Championships in Sunderland on February 4th 2023. Martha Shakesheff (Cleveland Junior Girls), Cameron Henderson (NY Junior Boys), Grace Derry (NY Inter Girls) and Islay Wilson (NY Inter Girls) qualified for the National ESAA Cross Country Championships to be held on March in Woolaton Park in Nottingham.

This is an amazing achievement and these athletes will run against the best in the country.

Head Coach Glen Hilton said ‘It’s a pleasure to coach four very talented young athletes. All their hard work is certainly paying off and they deserve their place at next month’s finals in Nottingham. I am a very proud Coach..........
