Mayoral election...

24th February, 2024.

In the run up to the election in May for a brand new Mayor of North Yorkshire and York the candidates are getting in touch with electors across this extremely large constituency.

About 800,000 people live in the area, so it is a big job just getting around.

Labour’s candidate, David Skaith came to talk at Thirsk Institute. “I don’t come from a political background,” he told the meeting.

David explained his background in small business – he runs a menswear shop in York.
