Hospice calls for continued support as it begins offering its services...

1st February, 2025.

Hospice care charity Herriot Hospice Homecare is calling for continued community support as it begins offering its services from a former Thirsk hospital.

Herriot Hospice@The Lambert, which is providing Herriot Hospice Homecare services from the former Lambert Memorial Hospital in the town, is beginning to serve local people living with terminal illness and bereavement.

First services from the transformed former hospital sees Just ‘B’, part of Herriot Hospice Homecare’s family of services, providing bereavement support to children, young people and adults across Hambleton and Richmondshire.

The space is also offering a digital support service, providing practical help with online tasks for people accessing palliative care and their carers – with drop-ins taking place 10am-2pm at Herriot Hospice@The Lambert every Wednesday.

Beginning this week, the charity is also opening its Community Hub from the space, 10am-2pm Monday to Friday – the first time the transformed building will begin serving local people more widely.

The Hub provides an opportunity to purchase refreshments and find out more about Herriot Hospice Homecare and Just ‘B’ services and ways to get involved, including volunteering and fundraising.

It will also host some of the charity’s existing and growing services – such as its Digital Support Service and Wellbeing Service for people, their families and carers living with terminal illness.
