Thirsk Adventurer Sets Sail Across the World...

22nd February, 2025.

Jasmine Harrison is once again pitting herself against the elements in an epic adventure across the world by entering a year plush sailing race across the globe.

Here in own words she tells us more: “I’ve entered the inaugural Mini Globe Race 2025 and am preparing for another adventure of a lifetime. I will be sailing solo around the world over 14 months in a 5.8m (19 foot) long yacht, racing against 20 others, and will be one of only two female competitors. I will be the youngest sailor to take part at aged 25.

I have my Globe 580 yacht, Numbatou, and now need to equip her with safety equipment and supplies, and get to the start line. The journey will start with a Transat qualifier in January 2025, then there will be four main legs, Antigua to Panama, Panama to Fiji, Fiji to Cape Town, Cape Town to Antigua with other pit stops on the way.

I want to inspire everyone, particularly young females that anything is possible, from small goals to big adventures, and they can do something incredible too. Supporters will be able to follow my journey by tracker, event web-site, and social media throughout the journey.

My previous adventures have broken two world records, as the youngest female to solo row the Atlantic Ocean, which I completed in 2021, age 21, and the first female to swim from Lands End to John O’Groats in 2022.”

Jasmine started the Transat leg in her yacht Numbatou on Saturday 11th January from the Marina Rubicón Lanzarote on her way to Antigua where she arrived on Sunday 9th February.
