Then there was a busy weekend of tracking Paul Peacock in the Hardmoors 110 with support on the course from Gavin Coventry and Kirsty Naylor who braved a very early morning (or late night?) and a lot of encouragement pouring in online as well.
Paul ate up the 110 mile course following the Cleveland Way from Filey to Helmsley in a stunning time of 22 hours and 58 minutes, picking up second prize overall and winning his age category (V60) by nearly 6 hours.
Clearly the Marathon des Sables, which Paul completed in April, was an excellent period of training to translate up onto the rugged North Yorkshire Moors.
Meanwhile, friend of the club, Simon Spence, was running the Hardmoors 160 and encouraging donations to the Charlie Dallas Lancaster Foundation – an enormous undertaking of 160 miles with over 7,000 metres (22,965ft) of ascent which he completed in 49 hours and 57 minutes, with support from Harriers, Alison and Andy Butcher.
