On a cold and frosty day, Thirsk welcomed Fulford to the SSV for what turned out to be an entertaining game. Fulford started strong from the start and dominated early on, where as Thirsk weren’t themselves and began the game slowly.
Things were just not going right for Thirsk and Fulford took advantage with a series of chances that thankfully were saved by Annie. The pressure continued from Fulford and on the 15th minute a good through ball from Fulfords midfield found their forward who shot the ball home to take the lead 1-0.
Thirsk kept trying to get their game going, working hard in all areas on the pitch but found themselves playing too deep, which played into Fulfords hands. Another two chances came to Fulford from corners but again were well saved by Annie. With 10 minutes left in the first half, Thirsk changed their formation back to their traditional 3-3-2 and this changed the game.
With a more attacking impetus Thirsk started to take control of the game and put pressure on Fulford for the first time. A long kick from Annie was flicked through from midfield to Eva, who shot but hit the post..........
