Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers ...

20th January, 2024.

The year continues as it started on the theme of mud, of which there was plenty at the aptly named Commondale Clart Fell Race.

You have heard about Doctor Foster who stepped in a puddle right up to his middle! Apparently this happened to a couple of T & S ladies during the course of this race, and no doubt all competitors had to clean themselves off very significantly before getting into their cars for the journey home.

Full results are not yet to hand, but the amazing Paul Peacock was first club finisher, and 1st M55. Kirsty Naylor took the prize for 1st F40 and Trudy Morrice was 2nd V55.

Others taking part in this fell race, which has a long pull up from the village of Commondale at the start and plenty of testing ups and downs before returning to the village, were Josh Cooper, Paul Chapman, Gavin Coventry, Helen Ashworth, Duncan Fothergill, Stewart Mechie and Sara Armitage.
