Peacock storms through Marathon des Sables Ultra...

Over the weekend and into Monday morning UK time, Thirsk and Sowerby Harrier's very own Paul Peacock was taking part in the Marathon des Sables Ultra.

This event is brand new and specially put on to celebrate 40 years of extreme adventures under the Marathon des Sables branding.

Covering either 100 miles or 100 km across the Moroccan Sahara, with Paul taking on the longer option, competitors had to complete their chosen distance self-sufficiently in less than 40 hours, all carrying the mandatory equipment in case of emergencies.
