Charity Music Concert Thirsk...

St Mary’s Church, Thirsk was the venue for a charity music concert to raise funds for Cancer Research UK on 24 June.

The event was well attended and a wide variety of music was enjoyed on a beautiful sunny evening.

The event was organized by local organist, Chris Dodd, whose own daughter, Nicky, had been diagnosed with breast cancer only weeks into her first pregnancy.

Thanks to the excellent treatment she received at Harrogate and Leeds hospitals she gave birth to a healthy daughter seven weeks prematurely, who was unaffected by the chemotherapy, and she is now in remission herself................
