With light summer evenings and warmer weather, fell races are coming up thick and fast, the latest being Inclined to Madness, so call because part of it is along an incline along the railway line used to transport ironstone in the past!

The incline, coming in the middle of the race, is just under a mile long with and ascent of 200 feet and it's a killer, and with rough moorland to follow, a very testing race.

In Race 6 of the Dave Parry Summer Series, Thirsk and Sowerby once again had a good turnout, many of whom came away with prizes at the end.

Tom Levi was the first of these, 2nd finisher out of 91 in a time of 48.59.

Freddy Wharton, really getting back into the groove since he returned to the club, came 16th, and 1st MU23, in 54.48. with Richard Grant 24th in 56.18, Gary Wilkinson 27th in 57.02 and Esther Harrison, in the prizes again, 30th and 2nd lady overall in 57.40................
