The warm weekend weather provided the perfect backdrop for His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire and the Archbishop of York’s Garden Party, held at the Deanery in York Minster.
Among the honoured guests was Rob Burn, Head Coach of the Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers, who was invited by King Charles in recognition of his outstanding service to the local community.
Rob, accompanied by his wife Christine, enjoyed a well-deserved day off, mingling with other community-spirited guests.
A dedicated Harrier for 43 years and a long-serving committee member for over 35 of those, Rob’s commitment goes far beyond running.
His tireless efforts in supporting others - through charity work both at home and abroad, as well as organising fundraising events - have made a lasting impact.
Tuesday 24 June was a warm, showery night in Ripon for the fourth in the Harrogate District Summer Race League series.
There was a great turnout, with 38 runners from Harriers lining up to take on the very picturesque multi-terrain route and then enjoy the mountains of sandwiches and cake afterwards.
