Donation for Thirsk Youth Club...

If you don’t ask, you don’t get. When Di Cristy-Lewis and husband Michael moved into a new bungalow on the Bellway estate on Station Road, she was, as she puts it, cheeky enough to ask the developers if they made donations to the communities where they built, and was told: yes, we do.

Coming from Leeds where she and Michael have experience of helping Christmas events for people in need, something she feels strongly about, she hoped she might get £100 to support the Family Life Church’s Christmas Day dinners. She got more than that: £200 for the Christmas events and another £300 for Thirsk Youth Club.

Under the town centre clock she handed over the Youth Club cheque to the Reverend Jill Gillanders who was the driving force behind starting the Club........
