Malcolm Myers and his dog Buddy were out walking last Wednesday afternoon 7th June, in Thirsk.
They had just passed the Sowerby & Thirsk Institute when a very large Horse Chestnut tree made a cracking sound then crashed to the ground burying him underneath it.
One of the main branches hit him from behind throwing him forward, with another branch hitting him lightly on the head.
His dog was clear from the debris and thankfully Buddy started to dig Malcolm from the mess of foliage and branches, as all was dark to Malcolm.
It was Buddy frantically trying to get to Malcolm that jolted him into getting out from under the fallen tree...............
