CLOSURES...

The stretch of Sowerby Road from Four Lane Ends, down to the junction with Green Lane East, has been made one way southwards.

I am sure the driving public will get used to this, but I have seen several cars ignore the larger than usual “No Entry” signs and the concrete barriers restricting the width of the carriageway.

I am told that this temporary measure is to ease traffic on Topcliffe Road, when the major works planned for the winter eventually start.

Apparently, the same crews who look after the road works drive the gritters in freezing weather, and cannot be in two places at once...........
