Thirsk Falcons U10s Clarets v Boroughbridge U10s ...

16th March, 2024.

The Clarets travelled to Boroughbridge for a league game this weekend, another brisk morning and grass pitch for the Clarets, after a recent friendly tournament hosted by the club and their fourth meeting this season.

Proceedings opened with a minute’s silence to mark the passing of a young Bedale player and support of his family this week; all the lads, spectators and both clubs sending condolences to all who knew Alfie.

The home team were straight into the match, with sustained pressure and fast moving play towards the Thirsk goal.

Balls were flying through the air a-plenty; powerful shots, dramatic goal line clearances, rapid runs and strikes hit so hard that the player’s boot came off - this was proving to be an excellent match with Boroughbridge asserting dominance and making their mark on the scoresheet.

The home team took the lead as Thirsk needed to wake up and get into the game!

As the half went on, the Clarets found space to make a charge on the opposition’s goal before Boroughbridge were straight back into the Thirsk half, forcing the goalkeeper out and the defender cleared the danger.
