Thirsk Falcons U11 Blues v Brompton U11s...

8th March, 2025.

A bright and springlike morning greeted Thirsk for their match up at Brompton on the grass last Saturday.

An early shot from the home team was tipped wide by the Thirsk keeper, showing the visitors were not quite awake yet!

As the lads settled, our no 13 picked up a clearance by Brompton and crossed to no 12 who rolled the ball past the keeper to make the first mark on the scoresheet.

The home team were straight back on the attack, with the Falcons’ keeper called on to save as the lads were forced into a defensive style of play. No 4 at the back was also making clearances but it wasn’t long before an equalizer came.

Thirsk were making use of their left wing with some rapid runs by our no 8 but Brompton were also fast on the counter.

But the Thirsk pressure paid off before halftime with a fantastic strike by our no 7 to edge into the break ahead.
