6th May, 2023.

The Yarn Bombers have extended their activity to our local post box – giving a new slant to the term “Royal Mail”!

No doubt, any new post boxes will be cast bearing the royal cipher of King Charles.

The old ones will not be replaced, which is good news for the nostalgically inclined of us. We still have one of the original vintage, dating back to the reign of Queen Victoria, still in use attached to the wall of the Crown and Anchor pub in Sowerby.

I look forward to seeing many of you on the field beside the Sowerby Parochial Hall (Inside said hall if wet) for the celebratory coronation feast this Sunday afternoon. Notices have appeared pleading with dog owners to observe the proprieties of canine hygiene.

I hope the weather similarly observes the uniqueness of the occasion..............
