A great end to a mixed season for Thirsk Falcons in the North Riding league...

Last Saturday Thirsk Falcon’s men’s team played a final home game at Sowerby Gateway against St. Mary’s 1947 to end the present season.

Once again the lack of available players hindered Thirsk Falcons, with no substitutes available and several key players missing or injured, the story of their season this year.

However, their capable manager hoped to prove his team were up to the task of the day. But, it was St Mary’s who scored first, after ten minutes, from a good and accurate hit at target.

Undaunted, Thirsk continued to play well and effective football in a confident manner and managed to get in to the St. Mary’s goal area eleven minutes later when Adam Galloway brilliantly headed the ball in to the back of the net in a tight and well defended goal, for the equalizer......
