Sowerby Road back to two way traffic ...

On a very hot and sunny afternoon a team from North Yorkshire Council Highways Department removed the signs and concrete chicane which have made Sowerby Road one-way for a long time.

They winched the concrete slabs onto a lorry along with the one-way signs and swept up after them.

Oddly, given how long the scheme had been in place, they chose not to put anything in place such as temporary signs telling motorists that traffic could now move in both directions along this piece of road.
