Quite a long queue built up during Saturday morning, on 24th May at Thirsk’s White Rose Bookshop and café, where local tv vet, Julian Norton, famed for Channel Five’s twenty series of “The Yorkshire Vet” came along to sign copies of his new book, “A Yorkshire Vet: Back to Herriot Country”.
Featured on the front is the portrait of his pet dog Emmy, which featured on a recent episode, when an artist painted its likeness for him, and both the dog and its portrait have created a lot of interest among the many thousands of viewers and readers.
Julian was very happy to talk about the portrait, his pet and the episode on recent television.
Eager visitors of all ages came from Ohio in America, Ann Frake from Defiance, and a couple of Texans greeted Julian, Jana and Chloe Demski.
UK readers came from Staffordshire, Essex, West Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cumberland, Nottinghamshire, among other places, travelled especially for the signing event or were on holiday around Thirsk and took this golden opportunity to meet the man they see on television or have read.
