Yes, Minister...

The Parliamentary career of Kevin Hollinrake, MP for Thirsk and Malton, has taken a step forward with his appointment as a junior minister.

He is now Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

His new boss is Grant Shapps MP, who replaced Jacob Rees-Mogg when Rishi Sunak became Conservative Party leader and Prime Minister.

We may see him answering difficult questions in Select Committees or on the floor of the House of Commons, especially if, as trailed this week, taxes will be going up and public spending down.

Kevin, now 59, has always been excited at being able to represent the area where he grew up and has lived.

He went to Easingwold School and was inspired by a physics teacher to go on to Sheffield Poly, but then diverted from academic study into business, initially running a market stall with a mate, then moving into estate agency where he made his career.........
