83-year-old Mollie Richmond from Hambleton Grange care home in Thirsk went swimming for the first time in 15 years recently, after she expressed her wish to get back in the water.

When Mollie moved into Hambleton Grange in 2022, she told her carers that she wanted to be able to move around without her wheelchair.

After working on different exercises with the team at Hambleton Grange, Mollie recently felt strong enough to enjoy a dance with her husband during a recent celebration in the home.

Mollie later expressed to the team at Hambleton Grange how much she wished she could go swimming – something she hadn’t been able to enjoy since 2008...
