Celebrating Sowerby House’s Success...

Sowerby House, a trusted care home in Sowerby, is thrilled to celebrate two of its own, Kathryn Lincoln and Christina Kay, who recently reached the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Finals for the prestigious Great British Care Awards (GBCA).

Kathryn, a dedicated Senior Carer at Sowerby House and finalist in the Dementia Carer Award category, and Christina Activities Co-ordinator at Sowerby House who was shortlisted as a finalist in the Care Home Activity Organiser Award.

Both Kathryn and Christina have shown outstanding compassion and dedication in their work with residents living with dementia, making them both an invaluable part of our team and an inspiration to her colleagues.

Their recognition at the GBCA is a testament to their commitment to providing exceptional, person-centred dementia care.

Their calm and empathetic approaches help residents feel safe, understood, and respected.

Reaching the finals for this award highlights not only their hard work but also their deep understanding of the unique needs of those with dementia.
