Queen Mary’s Pupil Secures National Win at HOYS ...

Queen Mary's pupil, Ella Kay, aged 12, celebrated her most significant victory to date as she claimed the Equine Rescues Services 128cm Championship at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show, riding the remarkable Red Alert III.

As well as studying at Queen Mary’s School, near Topcliffe, Ella and her horse Red Alert III have had a very busy and successful year.

They have already marked their dominance in the sport by winning the Gold League and the National 128cm Championship at the British Showjumping National Championships earlier in the year.

However, their triumph at the Horse of the Year Show is undoubtedly their crowning glory.

The competition saw twenty-one talented riders enter the iconic arena, facing a challenging 1.15m track designed by the renowned Ben Townley.

The competition was fierce. In the jump off Ella displayed unwavering confidence and exceptional riding skills...
