Thirsk and Sowerby Sports Park Officially Opened ...

The last piece of a green jigsaw, providing outdoor sports facilities for Thirsk and Sowerby was unveiled this week.

The five year, one and a half million pound project, consisting of running tracks and sports pitches now has changing facilities to match the quality of the pitches.

The ribbon was cut by one of Thirsk's rising football stars, Alfie McCalmont, a former pupil at nearby Thirsk School and Sixth Form College, who has as a professional footballer risen through all levels of the game, from Thirsk Falcons to league football with Carlisle United...
