National Three Peak Challenge – In memory of Ben Lowe for the British Heart Foundation ...

Isaac Lowe wanted to do something special for his father, who died of a sudden heart attack in March this year.

Isaac decided that the National Three Peaks, in under 24 hours, was the challenge. Ben Lowe was a dear friend of mine, so I wanted to help Isaac with the challenge as I’d accomplished the challenge myself in 2015.

A team of six was formed and we achieved the challenge in 23hr 15mins. This is how…..

All the preparations and plans had been drawn up, meetings and phone calls had taken place. With risk assessments and backup plans done.

Saturday 14th October had arrived, and we collected our nine seater brand-new Renault Trafic. This vehicle was kindly lent to us by Busby Stoop Garage.

Collecting the lads from Asenby we set off to Caernarfon, Wales.

Having hit Wales the rain fell and my heart sank, I knew the challenge was a tough one and quite a lot was reliant on the weather, know matter how fit anyone was.

We reached Caernarfon Castle at 8:15pm where the challenge began with us touching the water, a way of us showing that we started at sea level.

Back in the vehicle, we headed to YH Snowdon Ranger.

We started our climb up Snowdon via the Snowdon Ranger Path at 8:43pm...
