After wholesale cancellations of local park runs following several days of wind, gales and heavy rain connected with Storm Babet, who could believe that Sunday would dawn fine and dry for the Whixley 10k and 5k?

It was a real bonus for the organizers of this pleasant multi terrain village race, where the off road parts were definitely muddy with standing water in parts.

Our three members involved made light work of it with Olivia Mulligan finishing 20th, and 4th lady, in 47.09 in the 10k, and Lorraine Hiles not far behind, 23rd and 1st F50 in 47.48.

Kirsty Naylor came 47th in 53.05 and afterwards, all sat in the sun enjoying the superb bacon sandwiches...
