Everyone loves a visit to the cinema, but how often have you wondered what it's like to see what's actually in there in daylight?

Well this Saturday join us for a fascinating 'behind the scenes' look.

Thirsk's historic and volunteer-run Ritz Cinema is taking part in this year's Heritage Open Days allowing the public to see inside the cinema with the lights up and with 'access all areas'.

Many period details will be visible and guides will lead tours explaining the building's history, interesting characters and the story of 28 years of volunteer management run success of this important community asset.
