Unusually high temperatures, making life difficult for everyone, were even more difficult for the thousands who did the Great North Run on Sunday - Sir Mo Farah's last hurrah!
Well done to all 19 Harriers who completed it, for several their first GNR.
Tom Brockbank recorded the quickest time, 1.45.13, with Chris Coates 1.48.11, Neil Cooper 1.52.44, Stuart Waters 1.56.46, Joe Joyce 1.57.06, Clare Tempest 1.57.42, Mike Cropper 2.07.47, Alan Harman (how many half marathons?), 2.21.13, Richard Soper 2.23.51, Tracey and Alan Docherty, running together, 2.25.19, Rosie Hill 2.26.09, Phillip Craig 2.28.16, Sara Armitage 2.28.47, Will Jagger 2.29.37, Stuart Hill 2.33.45, Beth Haggath 2.43.13, and Allison Whiteley and Craig Atherton, running together, 3.18.11.
Torrential rain after the event soaked through some later finishers, and caused real difficulty for local transport...
