At least 17 members did the Great North Run on Sunday, on a day which was certainly at least damp but probably good for running.
As usual, all enjoyed the atmosphere of the crowd, and some of them were in party spirit as they caught the train at Thirsk!
Stuart Waters, on his sixth running of the event, had the fastest in a time of 1.49, with Clare Tempest taking 1.52.14, David Tervit 1.56.18 and Andrew Pollard 1.58.12.
Most of the other members took between two and two and a half hours, including Ruth Pollard, Natalie Lyth, Kelly Grieve, Louise Mayfield, Joe Joyce, Faith Coy, Louise McVay, Phillip Craig, Tracey Docherty, Nicky Hawkes, Alan Docherty and Laura Till, with Beth Haggath just a little longer.
Very well done all of you, several of you first timers and others old hands!
Several ran on charity places, including Phillip and Andrew who were running in aid of the new Herriot Hospice just opening in Thirsk.
On a smaller scale, but just as damp, and very well supported by villagers, there were 291 finishers at the Tholthorpe 10k, a popular local event enjoyed by all.
