Thirsk’s Tasha Ghouri On Strictly...

Tasha Ghouri (originally from Thirsk) is a model and TV personality who took part in ITV’s 2022 series Love Island. She is now a contestant on the BBC One’s much loved show Strictly Come Dancing which started last Saturday.

Tasha was born deaf and was given a cochlear implant around 5 years old. She will be Strictly’s second deaf contestant following Rose Ayling-Ellis win in 2021.

She told the BBC the following: “Pinch me, I can't believe I'm going to be on Strictly Come Dancing! I’ve been watching the show since I was little – it's a firm Ghouri family favourite - so this is a total dream come true. I know it's going to be an unforgettable experience and I hope to represent and make everyone proud out on that dancefloor.”
