Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers...

On a fine dry Saturday back home, Alan Simpson, Trudy Morrice and Kim Wilkinson set off on "The Road to Nowhere", an inaugural fell race organized by Nidderdale Fell Club.

The start was at Scar House reservoir over 18.9 miles, crossing Little and Great Whernside and then back across the moors.

Navigation in places was tricky, and a recce beforehand proved to have been very worthwhile - the beautiful views over Nidderdale perhaps made up for the tough going at times.

The three club members ran together, and Trudy and Kim both picked up age-group prizes.
