Thirsk's Ritz Cinema raised £620 for the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal following the fundraising showings of 'Downton Abbey: A New Era' on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of May. The monies consisted of the proceeds from ticket sales, sale of sweets/ices and quads as well as donations from some supportive customers on entry........

For the second year in succession, Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers entered two teams in the Cleveland Way Relays over 110 miles, beginning in Filey at 5am and finishing in Helmsley - with fish and chips at the end as a reward! (Tom Levi did this distance on his own a couple of weeks ago........
