Last Saturday I visited two interesting events. In the morning Herriot Hospice Homecare launched their September fund-raising campaign at Thirsk Town Hall, choosing this month because it was in September of 1890, 132 years ago, that the cottage hospital paid for by Mrs Sarah Lambert first opened its doors to provide medical care for the people of Thirsk and around........
